The Bible Way to Heaven
If you landed on this page, you may have questions about salvation. Let me start by asking you the most important question of your life: Are you 100% sure you will go to Heaven when you die? It is not a question of how good you are, or if you attend church regularly, but ARE YOU SAVED?
The Bible tells us that we can know for sure we are going to Heaven…
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13)
In order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.” In the Bible, God gives us the plan of how to be born again, which means to be saved. His plan is simple. You can be saved today! How?
First, you must realize you are a sinner… “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). Sin is missing the mark; falling short of the standard that God requires. Are any of us perfect? No. But Heaven is a perfect place, and Romans 3:23 says that we’ve fallen short of God’s glory, which means we don’t deserve to go to heaven.
We’ve inherited our sin nature from Adam… “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12)
We have a debt… “For the wages [payment] of sin is death;” (Romans 6:23a)
Of course, we’re all going to die one day, but this refers to a spiritual death, including eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.
We cannot save ourselves… “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We cannot pay the debt we owe.
But God loves you so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bear your sin and die in your place. “For he hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
We were supplied a gift… “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b). This teaches that salvation is a free gift. Who paid for it? Jesus.
We were sent a Saviour… “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is what He did to purchase the gift for us.
We can simply confess and call… “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13). Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved doesn’t mean may be, or can be, but shall be saved. You can place your faith in what Jesus did for you and ask Him to save you.
There is no other way to Heaven… “Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’” (John 14:6). “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Although we cannot understand how, God said that my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus, and He died in our place. He became our substitute. It is true. God cannot lie.
Once you see yourself as a sinner and in need of a Savior, if you will simply ‘call upon the name of the Lord’, you shall be saved from spending eternity forever separated from God and have everlasting life in His Heavenly Kingdom! Salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned by “good works” or “living a good life”. God is not willing that any should perish. That includes you.
Take God at His Word, and claim His salvation by faith. Believe on Jesus Christ, and receive Him as your Savior today. You might say, “Surely, it cannot be that simple.” Yes, it’s that simple! It is scriptural. It is God’s plan. God keeps all His promises; His Word does not return void.
If you are ready to accept Jesus into your heart and trust Him to save you, here is a prayer you can say. Remember…the prayer and your words do not save you, only Jesus Christ can save you.
“Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner, and I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe with all my heart that You died on the cross for my sins, were buried, and rose from the dead three days later. I now place my full trust in You alone for my salvation and not in myself. Please save me, Lord Jesus, and give me the gift of eternal life in Heaven. Come into my heart, and show me how to live for You. Thank You for saving me. In Your Holy Name, I pray. Amen.”
If you just said the prayer and meant it with all your heart, rejoice! You are now a child of God! We would love to know about your decision and share the wonderful news with our church family so that we can praise God, pray for you on your spiritual journey, and rejoice with you! PLEASE COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THE FORM BELOW. Make sure to tell others how they, too, can have eternal life in Heaven by sharing the gospel with them!
After you are saved, there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth:
Pray – you talk to God
Read your Bible – God talks to you
Witness – you talk for God
While not necessary for salvation, it is important to be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation and unite with a Bible-preaching, Bible-believing church without delay. “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32)
